GCompris

GCompris is an educational program designed for children ages 2 to 10. The name is French: "J'ai compris" means "I have understood".

To give a quick summary of GCompris is difficult, because it contains more than 50 different activities, some of which are elementary and some of which are more advanced. Each activity is presented in the form of a game or puzzle, with sounds and colorful childlike graphics, including:

• computer discovery: keyboard, mouse, mouse gestures, ...
• algebra: table memory, enumeration, double entry table, mirror image, ...
• science: the canal lock, the water cycle, the submarine, ...
• geography: place the country on the map
• games: chess, memory, ...
• reading: reading practice
• other: learn to tell time, puzzle of famous paintings, vector drawing, ...

As with Tux Paint, the best way to learn about the program is to use it!
