OpenOffice.org

OpenOffice.org is a free office suite resembling Microsoft Office. In fact, OpenOffice.org can frequently be used as a replacement for Microsoft Office, with the advantages of lower cost and open file formats. Thanks to some clever reverse engineering, Openoffice.org reads and writes both Microsoft's secret file format (.doc) as well as its own open file format (.odt). With OpenOffice.org, you can in addition write pdf-files and html-files. Use it to make your own home page!

	Writer File format: .odt (OpenDocument Text) Writer is a word processor similar to Microsoft Word. Writer reads and writes both Microsoft's .doc-format as well as its own .odt-format.
	Calc File format: .ods (OpenDocument Spreadsheet) Calc is a spreadsheet similar to Microsoft Excel. Calc reads and writes both Microsoft's .xls-format as well as its own .ods-format.
	Impress File format: .odp (OpenDocument Presentation) Impress is a presentation program similar to Microsoft Powerpoint. Impress reads and writes both Microsoft's .ppt-format as well as its own .odp-format.
	Draw File format: .odg (OpenDocument Graphics) Draw is a vector graphics program often compared with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Visio. Draw does not support Microsoft Visios .vsd-format.
