Saving to Diskette |
If you have used Snøfrix for some time, and you then shut down the computer, all the files that you have downloaded, created, or modified will be lost --- unless you save them.
Here we discuss the simplest method of saving files, saving to diskette. All other methods of saving files are variations on this theme.
NB To insure that the diskette is properly recognized, please insert it before initiating any save operations.
Choose Save or Save As from the program menu.
The save dialog will show a list of files in the home directory: choose A:floppy or Diskette as the location to save your file.
|
| Start by locating the file that you want to save. Unless you have placed it elsewhere, it is located in the home directory. The simplest way to locate the file is to click on the house icon on the lower left of your screen, and to examine the list of files with the file browser (Konqueror). |
|
| Once you have found the icon corresponding to your file, you can drag it to the Floppy Disk icon (on the Desktop), and drop it there! If you only want to copy the file, choose copy, and if you want to both copy the file and remove it from its original location, choose move. |
Locate the file, then RIGHT-click on the file icon, and choose copy to or move to from the menu, with Home -> A:floppy as the destination.
