Graphics/Paint
If you are going to work with images, there are several tools to help you:
- digiKam imports images from your digital camera.
- KDEPrint configures your printer.
- kooka controls your scanner.
- KSnapshot records an image from your computer screen.
Once you have an image file available on your computer, you can edit it
with the GIMP.
The GIMP: a first glance
If you have previously worked with professional image editing software
such as Adobe Photoshop, you should soon feel right at home with the GIMP.
If you have never before worked with an advanced image editor, the number
of options may at first seem overwhelming.
- If you prefer a simple paint program suitable for children, try
Tux Paint.
Let us therefore make a short tour of the GIMP.
